PF22 Foam Cannon Maintenance Tips

pf22 foam cannon

Congratulations! You are an innovator, a forward thinker, a do-it-yourselfer, and you own a PF22 Foam Cannon. The majority of the PF22 is made up of a combination of polyethylene and brass. The strongest of which protects the interior piping and nozzle chamber, where the magic happens! To keep the magic alive indefinitely you will want to make sure to care for and maintain your foam cannon. Here are some tips we live by.

TIPS

Thread carefully!

One of the most common mistakes we see out there in the field is that people are stripping the threads on their bottle. Remember that the nozzle interior is metal, which is a much stronger substance than the plastic bottle which it is being threaded to. We’ve seen people screw the bottle on too quickly or forcefully and strip all of those threads. If this were to happen to your bottle, we have 3 & 5 pack replacement kits available on our website here.

Use DI or RO water

The quality of water you use can significantly affect your foam cannon and more. Hard water is harmful to pressure washers, hoses, spray guns, nozzles, and every QC and joint along the way. Hard water buildup can clog, corrode, and permanently damage equipment over time. Use Deionized water or Reverse Osmosis water to eliminate the danger.

Keep it dry

Store your Foam Cannon in a clean, dry place. Metals, even stainless steel, will react over time with water and may corrode. Where you store your PF22 will directly affect its lifetime. A foam cannon stored properly will last many years.

Use the right nozzle/orifice

In your PF22 kit, you will have received a small replacement nozzle. Your preinstalled orifice will be a 1.25mm (3.5 orifice size) and the replacement will be a 1.1mm (3.0 orifice size). Please use our free nozzle calculator anytime to confirm which nozzle you should be using for your pressure washer. The quality of foam you make will increase, and your foam cannon and pressure washer will thank you!

Rinse, Rinse, Rinse!

This step is often missed, especially if you are in a rush. It is important that after you’re done foaming, you remove the bottle from your nozzle and run clean water through the chamber for a few seconds before moving on. Skipping this step will leave residue from your cleaning agent in the orifice, filter, and chamber. This residue can build up and clog your foam cannon. Luckily, we always include an extra filter in our foam cannon kits. Make sure to keep it nearby in case you need to replace it.

Replace the filter

Following the previous tip, replace your filter when needed! Filters can become clogged or deteriorated from hard water, soap residue, and even from lingering water. We offer replacement filters on our website here.

If you need assistance in replacing your filter you may watch Mike go through all the steps on our YouTube page here.

Following these steps will not only keep your Foam Cannon happy and running without issue, but it will also give you better foam, which is what we’re really all here for! For more information, use the PF22 User Manual.
